Tacet starts from a 1918 sound recording of the Moselle front armistice, where six lines on paper record three seconds of war and three of peace. Those lines become six performers traversing representations of silence. Tacet is a chorus of silences centered around a shared secular ritual: the minute of silence. Structured as a score in four movements, the work creates a cartography of time, leading to a collective gesture with the audience to question what it means to be together.
