*Demons* by Fyodor Dostoevsky is an indictment of the nihilism of a generation of young revolutionaries who, in an attempt to change the state of affairs, end up embracing violence. The protagonists dream of a different world and clash with a community of adults incapable of understanding them, anchored to a dissolving order: a profound conflict between generations and visions of the future.

In his work on Dostoevsky’s text, Domenico Ingenito reinterprets this fracture between different life stages and adopts it as the context for the staging. Rewriting and revisiting *Demons* means inhabiting a perennial state of contradiction and seeking, within the indictment of nihilism, a common space between characters and audience—an attempt to resist an "end of the world" perceived as ever-closer.
