Raised in a family where classical music was omnipresent—her mother was an opera répétiteur—**Emma Saba** considers this repertoire as a complex and ambivalent cultural capital, marked by exclusions and violence. In this project, the artist focuses on the "dirty" and marginal elements, on what cracks the image of a high and pure culture. She explores works that portray desire, intimacy, violence, abuse, and death, questioning the gap between the emotional exhibition of the opera and her own discomfort with its clichés, imagining a space of revenge for historically sacrificed figures. In collaboration with Jeanne Pâris and Marie Delprat, she gives voice to repressed identities, integrating a political reflection on voices and traumas. Jalousie des tempêtes!! thus takes shape as a celebration, a revolt, and an unfaithful reactivation, embracing the grotesque, pop, and clownish side of opera to reinvent its meaning in the present.
