Constant uncertainty and the crises of recent years have generated a sense of paralyzing helplessness. The performance draws on pop songs from the artist’s childhood—the Party Anthems written after the stock market crash, characterized by the nihilism of the youth of those years. The “presentism” described in the lyrics, linked to YOLO culture, becomes a form of escape: the past is lost, the future uncertain, and the present—already marked by disaster—becomes the space to be lived to the fullest. These songs resonate with nostalgia for a time when these themes were not yet a source of anxiety, transforming the memory of childhood into living material for the performance.
