D&D - Dance&Dramaturgy Project

Creato dal Théâtre Sévelin 36 di Losanna (CH) in collaborazione con La Bellone, Bruxelles (BE), il CSC Casa della Danza di Bassano di Grappa (IT), e Bora Bora di Aarhus (DK), questo progetto di network europeo ha come obiettivo il supporto di giovani coreografi e la promozione internazionale di artisti sostenuti dai partner.
Il programma si basa sull'idea che le produzioni dei giovani coreografi possano beneficiare moltissimo dall'apprendimento della drammaturgia. I giovani artisti infatti spesso offrono proposte meraviglise e innovative, ma in cui spesso danno più peso alle immagini e alle sensazioni piuttosto che alle basi e al risultato narrativo (in qualsiasi forma esso poi risulti). Per questo, il più grande rischio è che queste creazioni risultino inferiori al loro potenziale. L'energia investita nel loro lavoro è quindi persa a causa della mancanza di struttura. Un vero focus sulla drammaturgia, in vari momenti del processo creativo, aiuta invece la struttura artistica e aumenta il potenziale del lavoro. Questo supporto è fornito in varie fasi del progetto, con la supervisione e il supporto di un professionista di grande esperienza nella drammaturgia di danza, in sessioni di lavoro one-to-one e in workshop che riuniscono tutto il gruppo di partecipanti.
Ciascun partner sostiene un artista per il programma, scelto in base a un progetto di performance. L'artista potrà così beneficiare dell'intervento di un dramaturg in vari stadi del processo creativo, insieme a un workshop collettivo a Losanna e a residenze presso le strutture dei partner del progetto. Alla fine di ciascuna residenza è previsto un incontro con i curatori e il pubblico, che permette all'artista di aprire il proprio lavoro agli altri e a creare rete con i professionisti che incontra. A chiusura dei tre anni, si terrà a Losanna un simposio finale.

Initiated by Théâtre Sévelin 36, Lausanne (CH) in association with La Bellone, Brussels (BE), CSC, Bassano di Grappa (IT), and Bora Bora, Aarhus (DK), the European networking project to provide theatrical support for young choreographers aims to support artistic endeavour and to internationally promote artists who are sponsored by partner venues.
The programme is based on the idea that productions of young professional choreographers benefit a lot from learning on dramaturgy. Young artists often offer wonderfully inventive propositions, in which they often attach more significance to images and sensations than to their foundations and to the resulting narrative (whichever form it may take).
On this basis, the main risk is that these creations fall short of their potential. The energy invested in the work is then dispersed by the lack of structure. A real focus on dramaturgy, at several moments of the creative process, helps the artists structure and enhance their work. This support is provided at various stages, supervised and fuelled by an established professional with plenty of experience in dance-related dramaturgy, during one-to-one meetings and a collective dramaturgy workshop.
Each partner venue sponsors and puts forward an artist for the programme, who is chosen upon presentation of a performance project. The artist benefits from coaching by a dramaturge at several stages in the creative process in addition to a collective workshop in Lausanne and several residencies in other partner venues.
At the end of each residency a meeting with the public and curators enables the artist to open their work and network with professionals from partner venues. A final symposium will be organised in Lausanne to close this three-year programme.
