From Seren del Grappa, nestled in the pastoral setting of Rifugio Bocchette, the second day of the Monte Grappa Jazz Festival kicks off with the DaMaRo Trio.
This trio, representing a unified and balanced form of expression, marks an interesting musical journey for its three artists: Dario Volpi on guitar and composition, Marco Carlesso as a subtle and refined drummer, and Roberto Caon on double bass. They will present a repertoire of jazz standards, original compositions by legendary jazz figures, and some of their own written pieces.
at 2.30 p.m at Malga Bocchette di Cima, Seren del Grappa
Um/Welt
cantante e oud player Sarra Douik
saxophone e clarinet Manuel Caliumi
composer and double base Marco Centasso
electronic music and researcher Riccardo Sellan
Still in the Seren del Grappa area, the festival moves from Rifugio Bocchette to Malga Bocchette di Cima to meet the Um/Welt quartet. This new project, conceived by Marco Centasso and supported by the WeStart Production Center, is one of the four winning projects for Nuova Generazione Jazz 2025.
The German term "Umwelt" translates to the Italian "ambiente" (environment), but literally means "surrounding world." More deeply, "Umwelt" also refers to each individual's subjective universe—their horizon of interaction with the world. The musical project thus explores the creation of worlds interacting through sound.
By fostering a space for dialogue between composer and double bassist Marco Centasso, singer and oud player Sarra Douik, saxophonist and clarinetist Manuel Caliumi, and electronic musician and researcher Riccardo Sellan, the project investigates the possibility of creating new forms of relationship to communicate through sound, transcending the barriers of human communicability.

Hobby Horse is a collective formed in 2010 that quickly gained recognition for its tendency to push beyond the boundaries of jazz. They freely draw from other genres to create a truly original musical language of their own.
Their music is an unpredictable mix of styles and genres, at times a forceful collision of musical languages. It ranges from slam poetry to hip hop, bossa nova, psychedelia, progressive rock, techno, and chamber music. Hypnotic and mysterious drones alternate with violent bursts of energy, all unified by a subtle attention to timbre and melody, a constant sense of discovery, and palpable musical tension.
