A trio of outstanding young emerging artists: violinist Giulia Cellacchi and cellist Maria Salvatori, both born in 2004, joined by Armenian-born pianist Maya Oganyan, just eighteen years old. All three began their musical journeys at a very early age and have already received prestigious awards.
Their program features Rachmaninov’s Trio élégiaque No. 1, which showcases the powerful virtuosity of the piano part; Shostakovich’s Piano Trio No. 1, Op. 8, passionate and romantic; and Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio No. 1, Op. 49, rich in color and imbued with the fantastical spirit of Romanticism, where the three solo voices blend together with remarkable cohesion.
Giulia Cellacchi, born in 2004, was raised in a family of musicians and began studying the violin at a very young age.
Now barely past the age of majority, she has studied with acclaimed teachers such as Salvatore Accardo—with whom she is currently perfecting her craft at the Walter Stauffer Academy in Cremona—and Ilya Gringolts at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, two of Italy’s most prestigious musical institutions. She is also pursuing her undergraduate degree at the “Ottorino Respighi” Conservatory in Latina, under Giulio Rovighi, first violin of the Quartetto Prometeo.
A winner of numerous competitions, she earned First Prize at the Gewa Young Contest 2019, performing as soloist with I Virtuosi Italiani orchestra. In 2022, she was awarded Second Prize and a special prize for best Bach performance at the Pinerolo International Competition, and was selected the same year to play in the Orchestra da Camera Italiana, conducted by Salvatore Accardo.
Maria Salvatori, a remarkable talent, began studying the cello at the age of five and soon began receiving significant recognition.
In 2016, she was awarded a scholarship as the best student at the Fiesole School of Music, where she studied under Marianne Chen and later Luca Provenzani. In 2017, she began working with Ivan Monighetti in Basel. In 2021, she won a scholarship to attend the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid, where she has studied since September 2021.
She has participated in masterclasses with renowned musicians including Natalia Gutman, David Geringas, Frans Helmerson, Giovanni Sollima, and Mario Brunello.
Maria has won numerous national and international prizes, including First Prize at the “Riviera Etrusca” National Competition, the 7th “Antonio Salieri” International Competition, the 11th “Antonio Janigro” International Cello Competition in Croatia, and First Prize Overall at the XII Premio Crescendo – City of Florence (2021). In 2023, she was awarded Third Prize at the 4th Penderecki International Cello Competition in Krakow.
She has served as principal cellist of both the Royal Concertgebouw Youth Orchestra (Amsterdam) in 2019 and the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra (VFJO) in 2020. In 2022, RAI Radio 3 dedicated an episode of “La Stanza della Musica” to her. She has performed both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles at major venues and festivals, including Teatro La Fenice (Venice), Amici della Musica di Firenze, Filarmonica Romana, Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte di Montepulciano, and the Dresden Music Festival. Since 2020, she has held a scholarship from the Internationale Musikakademie Liechtenstein.
Maya Oganyan, of Armenian origin and just eighteen years old, lives and studies in Venice.
She began studying piano at the age of four with Alexander Maykapar, professor at the Gnessin Music Academy. In 2015, she entered the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory in Venice, where she studied with Massimo Somenzi, and since 2022 has been a student of Olaf John Laneri. She is currently continuing her studies with Roberto Prosseda at the Accademia di Prato, and is also attending an advanced program with Maestra Lilya.
Maya is the winner of numerous national and international competitions, including the “Schumann Prize 2023” at the Rospigliosi Competition, where she also won the Audience Award; First Prize at the “Young Female Music Talents” competition by Soroptimist Italy; and top prizes at the Vienna Grand Prize Virtuoso Competition, Orbetello Piano Competition, and La Palma D’Oro, where she also received the Pettini Prize for “the most outstanding talent among all first prize winners.”
At just 17, she became the youngest finalist in the history of the Verona International Piano Competition, where she won Second Prize, the Jury Prize, and the Special Prize for Best Female Talent. She performs regularly across Italy and has already appeared at major festivals.
