Seeking to break out of anthropocentric automatisms in their search for movement, Demestri+Lefeuvre investigate in Troisième Nature the possibility of translating non-human movements through the body. They bet on the possibility of a body becoming a landscape, a surface for the inscription of different ways of existing. They therefore represent an exploratory journey that aims to translate non-human movements through the body. At the centre of a device around which is the audience, a sensitive, non-anatomical body is recomposed, made of a mirroring surface that accompanies the spectators on a journey through the randomness of forms.
Rather than a choreographic phrasing or a defined physicality, the images follow one another, evoking the phenomenon of pareidolia - that spontaneous transformation of the visible that can make us see a horse in a cloud, or a mountain range in patches of humidity. A modelling material that eludes any prefabricated interpretation, the metamorphosis of this ‘third nature’ is a movement of living poetry.
