The second day of Terre Graffiate Jazz is set between Malga Bocchette and Rifugio Bocchette, on the Belluno slope of Mount Grappa, which opens onto wide pastures framed by ridges and silent woods, amidst bright meadows and panoramic views of the Dolomites and the Venetian plain. The musical program offers a succession of three concerts that explore different visions of contemporary jazz.
Opening the day is Allez Kiki Fermentation, a group formed in 2022 from an idea by Fabio Bordignon. The ensemble, currently composed of Fabio Bordignon on double bass, Massimiliano Brunetta on piano and synth, Tommaso Cipresso on vibraphone and moog, and Davide Parolin on flute, clarinet, and saxophone, develops a jazz-funk language that is free, ironic, and open to experimentation. After their first releases and intense live activity, the project has also established itself internationally, building an original path that brings together musical quality, performing energy, and a curiosity for ever-new expressive forms.
In the early afternoon, Nuwe Lewe performs, a trio composed of Lorenzo De Luca on tenor sax, Matteo Padoin on double bass, and Daniele Patton on drums. The name, which means “new life” in Afrikaans, perfectly captures the group’s poetics: an essential music based on free improvisation, seeking deep contact with nature and a more authentic dimension of listening. The lean melodies, intense grooves, and the almost ritualistic character of repetition transform the performance into a space of attention and rediscovery.
Closing the day is Trio Ammentos, formed by Peo Alfonsi on guitar, Fausto Beccalossi on accordion, and Salvatore Maiore on double bass. “Ammentos,” which in Sardinian means “memories,” is a project that for over twenty years has united three highly experienced musicians in a journey founded on sound research, interpretative intensity, and a strong melodic sensitivity. Their original compositions intertwine classical, ethnic, and jazz sounds, bringing to life a music rich in nuance, evocative, and deeply personal.
It is recommended to wear clothing and footwear suitable for the mountains and to bring a blanket to lie on while attending the concerts.
