The program offers a fascinating journey through eras and styles of chamber music, highlighting formal and linguistic evolutions. It opens with Haydn's Trio No. 42, an example of classical elegance and balanced dialogue between the instruments. Dvořák's Four Romantic Pieces introduce an intimate and suggestive lyricism, rich in expressive colors and a lyrical, miniaturist writing style based on an intense Bohemian cantability. Schumann, with his Pieces in Folk Style, reworks folkloric idioms in a sophisticated key, favoring a dense texture and an expressive interaction between cello and piano. Prokofiev's Sonata for Two Violins introduces a twentieth-century language characterized by rhythmic energy and expressive tension. To close, Beethoven's Trio Op. 1 No. 1, a youthful work rooted in classicism that already reveals dynamic tensions and an expansion of formal structures prefiguring future developments.

Boris Garlitsky, violinist, chamber musician, and educator, after winning the Paganini Competition in 1982, began a successful career as a soloist and in prestigious orchestras such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra. He participates in prestigious international music festivals and has recorded for RCA, Naxos, Chandos, and Polymnie. Also dedicated to teaching, he teaches at the Conservatoire National Supérieur in Paris and the Folkwang Universität der Künste in Essen. He holds masterclasses at renowned musical institutions both in Europe and the USA.

Elena Garlitsky studied at the Moscow Central School of Music and has performed throughout Europe and the United States as a soloist in numerous international festivals, frequently appearing in radio broadcasts for the BBC, Radio Moscow, and Radio France.

Swedish violinist Ulf Wallin dedicates himself with equal passion to solo and chamber music. His concert tours have taken him to Asia, Europe, and the United States, where he has performed under the direction of famous conductors, and he is a regular guest at internationally renowned festivals. His keen interest in contemporary music has led him to collaborate closely with important composers such as Anders Eliasson, Alfred Schnittke, and Rodion Shchedrin. He has made numerous recordings for radio and television.

Born in Ticino, Orfeo Mandozzi, winner of numerous international competitions—including Johannes Brahms, Osaka, UFAM Paris, Orpheus, and Illzach—completed an excellent education in cello, composition, and conducting. He has collaborated with great masters such as Mstislav Rostropovich, Yo-Yo Ma, Harvey Shapiro, Daniil Shafran, Paul Tortelier, and Maurice Gendron. His artistic and personal relationship with Bernard Greenhouse was particularly intense, leading Greenhouse to define him as “one of the leading cellists of our time.” His international career has taken him on tour across Europe, the United States, Latin America, and the Middle East. He has recorded numerous CDs for radio, TV, and major labels. Pizzicato magazine described his sound as “enchanting” and “breathtaking.” Since 2012, he has been the artistic director of “Live Music Now” Zurich, the association founded by Yehudi Menuhin, and since 2015, he has been a professor and active member of Musethica.
