Trio senza pianoforte is inspired by the debut work of the same name by Vitaliano Trevisan, one of the greatest Italian writers of the last twenty years, who tragically passed away in 2022.
Curated by the Bacàn Venetian Contemporary Orchestra, with narration by Diego Dalla Via, Alessandro Fongaro on double bass, Nicolò Ricci on tenor sax, and Marco Soldà on drums, this concert-reading brings to the stage an energetic and vibrant text of extraordinary musical rhythm. Here, the sharp writing is transformed into a texture of sounds, breaths, and evocative images, creating a living, essential, and pulsing experience. Trio senza pianoforte (Trio Without Piano) consists of three stories with a jazz-like pace: Uccelli, Passato di verdura, and Vasca imhoff. The first two take music as their core subject; the third focuses on architecture, where—in its ability to evoke a paranoid yet lucidly projected social critique—one can perceive the echo of the great Thomas Bernhard, so beloved by Trevisan. The project, a collaborative production between BACÁN and the OCV Orchestra Contemporanea Veneta, reinvents the text through music as Diego Dalla Via's narration intertwines with the soundscape created by the soloists, who have composed original pieces for this unique ensemble.
In collaboration with Veneto Barbaro.
