Libellula is a love song suspended between the terror of reason and the allure of madness, based on the long poem Libellula – Panegirico della libertà, in tribute to the experimental voice of Amelia Rosselli, one of the greatest poets of the twentieth century. The exploration of the long-form poem and a revolutionary female poetic subject transforms the verses into a mystical journey and an embodiment of the "wound," while word and music merge into a flow that alternates between the rational and irrational. The staging is sparse and musical: sound dialogues with the unconscious, preparing the audience for a sensory and physical listening experience. The performer explores the internal and muscular tension of the body and the context in which Amelia wrote, where the poetic interlocutor is always a "you": lover, God, enemy, audience. The union that the poetry seeks is one of all things—a return to a primal state of grace where light and misery coexist, and the absence of rational sense becomes meaning.
