Saint Sebastian, with his diaphanous skin, youthful muscles, and the arrows riddling his body, has become part of pop culture imagery over the centuries. This is a shift that Pastore’s dramaturgy interrogates through the narration of his story and hagiography, understood as a journey of revelation and acceptance.

Sebastian is presented as a contemporary character through whom the artist builds a path of self-affirmation: beyond the hagiography, it is the aesthetic and sensitive characteristics of the classical Saint Sebastian—the body, the gaze of others, illness—that constitute the heart of the dramaturgy.
