Nel nido explores dissociation and a shattered identity, inspired by Shirley Jackson’s The Bird’s Nest. Inside the protagonist, Elizabeth, four distinct girls coexist in the same body, each fighting to claim her own personality. The impossibility of knowing who Elizabeth truly is leads to a brutal solution: a murder to eliminate the "disturbed" female aspects. From the ashes of Lizzie, Beth, Betsy, and Bess, Victoria is born like a new Frankenstein—a blank slate devoid of memory.
