Scarabeo: simbolo, per gli antichi Egizi, del ciclo celeste di rinascita, e anche gioco da tavola, con le stesse lettere usate per formare parole diverse. Sono questi i due riferimenti che orientano la coreografia dove l’esperienza della carne e delle ossa, lo sforzo, la fatica e lo sguardo del pubblico, sono gli elementi che mantengono desti i due danzatori e li portano a trasformarsi in qualcosa di nuovo.

Scarabeo: for the ancient Egyptians the beetle was the symbol of the heavenly cycle of rebirth. Scarabeo is also the Italian translation of the table game “Scrabble”, in which letters are used several times to form in one space various words with different meanings. These two ideas are the main magnetic poles orientating Andrea Costanzo Martini’s work, where the experience of the flesh and bones, the effort, the fatigue and the gaze of the audience are the elements that keep the dancers awake and ready to transform themselves into something new.
