Investito dai poteri occulti trasmessi dalle maschere, nessuno sa- tranne alcuni membri di queste società segrete- chi si nasconde dietro. A film without words, a window that opens on a little-known world: the sacred spirits of Casamance (Senegal) that represent the spirit of the forest. Feared by the village’s residents, they manage conflicts, protect from illness, from droughts and call on the rain to bring fertility. They are not part of a festive or touristic folklore, but they belong to life in the village. Vested with the supernatural powers transmitted by the masks, no one knows- except from a few members of these secret societies- who hides behind them.
