Second musical appointment in collaboration with the Fondazione Amici della Fenice as part of the VeneziaPianoFestival, which presents the winners of the latest editions of the award. Daniele Martinelli is among them, First Prize winner at the 41st Venetian competition, already defined as "One of the most crystalline promises of the piano in Italy," and is among the most brilliant Italian talents of his generation. Born into a family of musicians in 2004, he began playing the piano at the age of 8. A laureate, in addition to Venice, of numerous other prestigious competitions, he has already debuted in important Italian and European theaters and concert halls. He is supported by the Lieven Piano Foundation in Vienna and has a broad interest in less-performed repertoire and a strong focus on contemporary repertoire. The program brings together three deeply different visions of pianistic language, in a journey that spans two centuries of music. Robert Schumann's Fantasy Op. 17 opens the evening with its intense poetic and visionary charge, suspended between romantic impulse and intimate confession. With pieces taken from Játékok, György Kurtág instead offers essential miniatures, sound fragments of great expressive concentration and formal freedom. Ludwig van Beethoven's Sonata Op. 111 concludes the program with one of the absolute peaks of the piano repertoire, articulated in a journey that moves from initial dramatic tension to an increasingly rarefied and transcendent dimension. An itinerary that puts eras and languages in dialogue, exploring the piano as a tool of thought and poetry.
"One of the most crystalline promises of the piano in Italy." "He has demonstrated that he possesses, in addition to talent and a natural freshness of spirit, admirable interpretative and executive skills, an artistic sensitivity that goes far beyond his already established technique." (Il Corriere)
