An exploration and reflection on the internal and external fractures that the female body is called upon to accept and endure during motherhood, on its transformations and on the everchanging nature of life itself, on perceiving it as flawed, on the shadow of imperfection, distortion, and incapacity that looms over it, both socially and professionally.
A body that exposes itself in its condition as both the matrix and the consequence of a gash. A reflection that takes shape through the experience of motherhood. Its state is liminal: sensual, generative, deformed, curved, enslaved by anthropological and political duties, fleshy and gaunt, a tear, a crack, a passage, a remnant, a double. And yet: limp, empty, imperturbable and troubled, inadequate and hostile, yet also loving and gentle. A body that is altered, lacerated, duplicated, left alone yet vital.
A reflection on becoming strangers to ourselves and on accepting it, while remaining in dialogue with what the body generates and with what passes through it.
