Spaces of Creative Displacement

CSC Centro per la Scena Contemporanea dancehouse (Bassano del Grappa, Italy) and Circuit-Est centre chorégraphique (Montréal, Québec) organize a meeting in the digital space for sharing ideas and reflecting together on the importance of activating spaces and time frames for creative research in cultural, social and environmental spaces that are not usual or familiar for the artists.

Starting from the long-time experience in shared projects of support for artists based in the two countries, the two dance organizations invite Italian  artists Chiara Frigo, Silvia Gribaudi, Fabio Novembrini and Andrea Rampazzo, and the artists based in Montréal Ginelle Chagnon, Katia-Marie Germain, Caroline Laurin-Beaucage, Jacques Poulin-Denis and James Viveiros, to share their experiences.
The conversation, facilitated by dance dramaturge Monica Gillette, will focus on the aspects that influenced the most of their professional development in the context of a transnational residency and the impact of an unknown cultural environment on their research.

Mrs. Diane Isabelle, Program Manager /Studios and studio-apartments from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec will introduce the new exchange program of artistic residencies in dance (8 weeks-long residencies) between Québec and Italy.
With representatives from MIBACT, Delegation du Québec à Rome and the Municipality of Bassano del Grappa.
